This black and white textile leather armchair and ottoman, the Maralunga model designed by Vico Magistretti in 1973, are iconic examples of mid-20th century Italian design.

Both pieces are in very good vintage condition, with the chair featuring an adjustable backrest. Extremely comfortable, they embody the timeless elegance and innovation characteristic of Magistretti's work.
In 1973, Vico Magistretti created the Maralunga armchair for the Italian company Cassina. Renowned for his designs characterized by simple, essential shapes and the use of innovative materials, Magistretti collaborated with several emerging publishers, consistently adhering to his guiding principles. His partnership with Cassina started in 1959 with the successful Carimate chair, but it was the Maralunga that truly distinguished itself, becoming an iconic piece of Italian design and winning the Compasso d'Oro award in 1979.
Very good vintage condition. Less than to be expected wear. Very comfortable. Beautiful textile.
